Higher Ground Books

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." --Matthew 19:14

Programs and Outreaches

At Higher Ground Books, our desire is to give ALL children a chance to learn that they are loved by their Heavenly Father. Our prayer is that through our books, a child will be introduced to Christian concepts, perhaps for the first time. Our hope is that the reading adult will also be touched significantly as he or she leads the child through one of our books.

We accomplish this desire by donating Christian children's books monthly to non-profit missions and ministries that provide Christian care and guidance for children. We currently support Angel Tree Ministries, Spring Hill Community Ministries, Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, The Albert T. Mills Enrichment Center, the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children, Belize Christian School, The Pier Foundation, Westminster Presbyterian Outreach and Children's Ministries, and many more.

The following Feature Ministry is just one of the many ministries that Higher Ground Books encourages and supports. We believe that the prayers, hopes, and goals of the Feature Ministry and Higher Ground Books are the same. We are proud to share and serve with them for the Kingdom.

The Albert T. Mills Enrichment Center

Serving Atlanta's children since 1995

A proud and happy Pastor Rosa Arnold (L) poses at the grand opening of the Center's new facility with Deborah Cheek (R)

The Albert T. Mills Enrichment Center is an inner-city ministry that serves pre-schoolers from Atlanta’s toughest neighborhoods. The Dads are rarely in the picture, the Moms are usually addicts, and the things the kids experience are things that pre-schoolers should not even see on TV. Pastor Rosa Arnold started the Center and is investing her life and personal finances to rescue those children most at risk. Ms. Rosa goes into tough neighborhoods and finds children who most need intervention. The Center then provides clothes, transportation, 2 hot meals a day, and dedicated Christian teachers.

Their Mission Statement:

Our Mission is to serve at risk pre-school children (ages3-5) with a Christ-centered, stable environment to learn and play safely. By giving pre-schoolers better academic skills, social skills, and Christian grounding, they become well prepared to succeed in school and society, and to avoid the hopelessness that leads to destructive behavior. In addition, we strive to empower parents and guardians to stimulate and safeguard early childhood development. We have dedicated Christian teachers on staff who really care about the future of children, and provide a basic pre-school education, safe play methods, a listening ear, and a mentor to count on.
